20 april 2010 14:43 Ukraine bans sheep, goat imports from Taiwan
The State Veterinary Medicine Committee has banned the import of sheep and goats, as well as animals vulnerable to pox, from Taiwan.

The ban took effect on 15 April. According to the International Epizootic Bureau, cases of goat pox have been reported in the territory of China, in particular, on the island of Taiwan.

In late 2009 the Ukrainian veterinary authorities banned the import of animals susceptible to pox, sheep and goats, from Kazakhstan, as pox cases were registered in the territory of that state.
