UN to boost cooperation with Ukrainian agriculture
Organizations of the UN system have a stake in boosting cooperation with Ukraine in agricultural industry and assistance for its development.
UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative to Ukraine Olivier Adam said this during his meeting with Ukraine's Agricultural Policy Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk, the agriculture ministry says.
The main subject of the meeting was to discuss promising areas of cooperation and preparation of the United Nations' Development Program for work in Ukraine in 2011-2015.
The participants in the meeting exchanged views of further development of Ukraine's agro-industrial complex in conditions of the growing demand for food the world over, the role of international organizations in the formation of standard approaches to agricultural policy, and maintenance of stable development of agriculture and the countryside.
Following the talks the parties reach agreement on further joint effort for the development of legislation on land tenure and application of WTO tools in prediction of events on international markets and analysis of price tendencies, exchange of information about pricing situation on Ukrainian and global agricultural markets.
