Russia is ready to buy Ukrainian sugar produced from sugar beet, Russian Agriculture Minister Yelena Skrynnik has said following negotiations with Agrarian Policy Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk in Moscow, UKRINFORM's own correspondent in Russia reports.

"We are importing sugar, the main thing for us is that sugar imported from the territory of Ukraine was produced of sugar beet, not from raw sugar," she said.

Skrynnik noted that this theme was discussed with the Ukrainian party and she expressed conviction that in the nearest future pro forma balance sheets will be signed, including on sugar. "In that case it will be possible to speak about sugar import," she said.
