21 may 2010 12:57 Direct foreign investment in economy 39% down
In the 1st quarter of 2010, foreign entities financed the Ukrainian economy with $717.1 million of direct investment, which is 61.0% of revenues in the 1st quarter of previous year, the State Statistics Committee reported.

EU member-countries invested $516.2 million (72.0% of the total volume), CIS countries $114.6 million (16.0%), and other countries $86.3 million (12.0%). At the same time, the capital of non-residents decreased by $296.1 million.

In general, the growth of total foreign capital in the economy, given its revaluation, losses, exchange rate differences and the like, in the first quarter of 2010 totaled $98.3 million, which is 12.0% of the like period last year.
