21 may 2010 13:01 EBRD improves Ukraine GDP growth forecast
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has improved the growth forecast for the gross domestic product of Ukraine in 2010 to 4%, which is 1% higher than previous estimates.

This is stated in the report on revision of economic forecasts for Central and Eastern Europe, released on the EBRD website.

Things are improving in Ukraine, which in 2009 suffered the greatest slump among all economies in the region; the attitude of market participants to Ukraine improved after the elections and the resumption of negotiations with the International Monetary Fund, the report says.

According to preliminary data of State Statistics Committee, Ukraine's GDP growth in first quarter of 2010 against the same period in 2009 at constant prices of 2007 amounted to 4.8%.
