Ukrainian, Kazakh presidents discuss prospects for development of bilateral relations
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev discussed the prospects for the development of bilateral relations at a meeting in Istanbul on Tuesday, the press service of the Ukrainian president has told UKRINFORM.
In addition, the presidents considered the issue of preparations for Nazarbayev's official visit to Ukraine. The sides also agreed to sum up the results of the practical implementation of Ukraine-Kazakhstan Action Plan for 2010-2011 (Road Map 3).
Yanukovych and Nazarbayev also agreed to develop joint projects in engineering and aircraft construction, space industry, the fuel and energy sector, as well as strengthen military and technical cooperation. The goal of stimulating increased trade between the two countries is also a priority.
The Ukrainian president is participating in Istanbul in the third summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
