Ukraine and Denmark have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in air transportation between the Defense Ministry of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defense of the Kingdom of Denmark, and a Technical Agreement on cooperation holding the Northern Falcon-2013 exercises between the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and the Operational Air Command of the Armed Forces of the Kingdom of Denmark.

As the press service of the Ukraine's Defense Ministry reported, the sides came to agreement on Monday on the results of the meeting of first Deputy Head of Ukraine's Defense Ministry Oleksandr Oliynyk and Danish Ambassador to Ukraine Michael Borg-Hansen.

"It's pleasant for me to say that the Northern Falcon has a [good] history - four operations have already been successfully held. For this I want to thank the Danish party for its initiative to establish this project, and record the conscientious performance of the Ukrainian pilots, who implemented certain operations under conditions of limited vision and low temperatures, as well as those who every year prepared the necessary legal grounds to hold the operation," Oliynyk said during the talks.

He said he was certain of the further successful development of Northern Falcon, and said that Ukraine and Denmark have many common branches for continued cooperation.

In turn, Michael Borg-Hansen said there had been rather close cooperation between the two countries, and in particular, between their air forces. He said he saw no obstacles to implementing a necessary, but a difficult mission - Northern Falcon-2013.

According to the information of the Defense Ministry, from April 9 to April 29 2012, the fourth joint Ukrainian-Danish exercises, Northern Falcon 2012, were conducted. During the exercises, IL-76MD military transport aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine made 20 trips and delivered about 500 tonnes of fuel and 70 tonnes of equipment and food from the U.S. Thule Air Base to the Nord Danish polar station.
